Young Women Climate Mentorship Programme Closes First Cohort

We proudly closed the first cohort of the Young Women Climate Mentorship Programme with a celebration of leadership, learning, and youth-led climate action. Twenty young women completed six months of mentorship, training and field visits, presenting four community-based climate projects at the closing ceremony.

Youth Initiative for Climate Action and the Youth Climate Council completed the first two stops of the national Youth NDC Consultation tour, bringing sixty young leaders into direct conversation about Sierra Leone's climate commitments in Bo and Makeni.

Launch of the Youth Climate Council Freetown Chapter

YICA-SL launched the Youth Climate Council Freetown Chapter at the Freetown City Council Hall, marking the first local chapter of YCC Sierra Leone. Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr co-signed the launch, emphasising youth leadership in local climate action.
