Growing the next generation of environmental stewards — through hands-on school gardens and training that equips young people and organisations to lead.
This programme combines practical, hands-on climate learning for pupils with the skills and capacity young people need to design and deliver their own climate initiatives.
Through NatureUp, we are transforming school compounds into living laboratories where young people learn sustainable practices first-hand. These gardens are not just about growing vegetables — they are about growing the next generation of environmental stewards.
We lead trainings on understanding climate change, project and grant writing, climate communication and policy advocacy. Through these efforts, five youth organisations have started new initiatives and gained access to finance and partnerships to scale.
We have successfully completed school garden installations in two schools and are now looking to expand to more schools across Sierra Leone. Our next phase focuses on scaling the School Climate Literacy Programme and integrating disability inclusion throughout our work.
